2014 in review. I really haven’t felt much like writing since my last post in Sept. I still have my big Valdez trip report to post from last summer, my plans for this next summer, and of course, the upcoming Yukon Quest. So I guess I better get writing…

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 49,000 times in 2014. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 18 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Hello! I just want to say how much I enjoy your blog. I have always been fascinated with Alaska but have never had the opportunity to visit let alone move there! Where were you originally from? What finally made you just go for it and move to Alaska? Hope to hear more from you soon…..have a wonderful New Year’s Eve and Day. 🙂

Thanks Clone. I grew up moving all over the lower 48, mostly in the south but with a few years in Montana, Oregon, and Minnesota. Spent many years off and on in Oklahoma. I continued that pattern all my adult life until I crossed the Alaska state line 11 years ago and it spoke to my soul. I knew I had found the home that I didn’t even realize I had been searching for.

Hello! I just want to say that I really enjoy your blog!! I admire your tenacity and endurance….from what I have read on your blog, it sounds like you have been through and experienced a lot! Where were you originally from before you moved to Alaska? Why Alaska? I have always been fascinated with Alaska myself but have never been there as of yet. I look forward to more stories from you! 🙂
